Description:
At 716 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Merkel, moving northeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hodges, Impact, Tye, Merkel, Abilene, Hawley, Stith, and Dyess Afb.
This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 263 and 286.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for west central
Texas.
