Description:
At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong storms along and
south of the Broad River, moving north at 15 mph, and posied to
develop over Southern Elbert County.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail will be
possible.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Broad River Campground, Fortsonia, Nancy Hart State Park, Bobby
Brown State Park, Middleton, Elberton, and Lake Strom Thurmond.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
