Description:
At 317 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles southwest of
Claiborne to 17 miles east of Jonesboro. Movement was northeast at 15
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Drew, Claiborne, Vixen, Folksville, Brownsville-Bawcom, Cheniere,
Brownsville-Bawcomville, Mineral Springs, Caderville, West Monroe,
Luna, Eureka, Lapine, Calhoun, Monroe, and Chatham.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
