Description:
At 143 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Tannehill Ironworks State Park, or 8 miles south of Bessemer, moving
north at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
McCalla, Splash Adventure, Promenade Tannehill, Brighton, Dolomite,
Lipscomb, Concord, Shannon, Bent Brook Golf Club, Midfield, McAdory,
Ross Bridge, Bluff Park, Hueytown, Bessemer Airport, Lake Cyrus,
Bessemer, North Johns, Fairfield, and Hoover.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
