Description:
At 340 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Hessmer to near Bunkie to near Lebeau.
Movement was northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Cottonport, Bordelonville, Bayou Current, Mansura, Goudeau,
Brouillette, Bunkie, Hamburg, Palmetto, Lake Ophelia National
Wildlife Refuge, Moreauville, Simmesport, Whiteville, Big Cane,
Dupont, Big Bend, Hessmer, Morrow, Lebeau, and Plaucheville.
This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 26 and 36, and
between mile markers 46 and 49.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
