Description:
At 619 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles east of
Owatonna, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. At 617 PM, golf ball size
hail was reported along Interstate 35 6 miles east of
Lemond.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Owatonna, Zumbrota, Kenyon, Wanamingo, Merton, Moland, Rice Lake
State Park and Bombay.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm has produced dangerous hail
and is capable of producing damaging winds.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for portions of
south central and southeast Minnesota.
