Description:
At 430 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 19 miles south of
Mesa, or 26 miles northwest of Roswell, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of North Central Chaves County.
This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 120 and 144.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for a portion of
southeast New Mexico.
