Description:
At 411 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 22 miles south of
Mesa, or 27 miles northwest of Roswell, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Mainly rural areas of North Central Chaves County.
This includes Highway 285 between Mile Markers 116 and 144.
Instruction:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
dangerous hail and damaging winds.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for a portion of
southeast New Mexico.
