...RED FLAG WARNING EXPIRING AT 7 PM FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 7 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR WEST-CENTRAL NM AND THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM MDT SUNDAY FOR ALL OF NORTHERN, CENTRAL, AND WESTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER... .As the sun sets this evening, winds will continue to weaken and humidities will continue to increase in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. So, the Red Flag Warning will be allowed to expire there at 7 PM MDT. Strong southwest winds and very low humidity are forecast along and west of the Middle Rio Grande Valley Saturday, then areawide on Sunday when the strongest winds are expected. Gusts up to 60 mph are forecast along the east slopes of the central mountain chain on Sunday with locally extreme fire weather conditions. * AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), North Central Mountains and Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Zones 120 and 122), Upper Rio Grande and Lower Chama River Valley (Zone 121), Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124), Northeast and Central Highlands (Zones 123 and 125) Sunday afternoon and early evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 6 to 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
