ALL OF NORTHERN, CENTRAL, AND WESTERN NM DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW
HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...
.Strong southerly winds with single digit humidity and above
normal temperatures continues to support several hours of
critical fire weather in the middle Rio Grande Valley this
afternoon and again Saturday afternoon expanding over west-central
NM. Stronger southwesterly winds over the entire area Sunday with
very low humidity and above normal temperatures will yield
critical to locally extreme fire weather Sunday afternoon and
early evening.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 1 PM to 7 PM MDT Saturday. A
Red Flag Warning has also been issued from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT
Sunday.
* AREA AND TIMING...West Central Mountains (Zone 105), and the
West-Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) Saturday afternoon, and
Sunday afternoon and early evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 6 to 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
