...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Oklahoma...
Washita River near Dickson affecting Carter, Johnston and Murray
Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Washita River near Dickson.
* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 35.0 feet, Flood depths up to 10 feet inundate areas
along the Washita River... from near Davis in Murray County... to
near Dickson in Carter County... to the headwaters of Lake Texoma
in Johnston County. Over 7 thousand acres of agricultural lands
are covered. Any flooding on tributary creeks is increased by
backwater from the Washita River.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:30 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 27.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet.
- Forecast...The Washita River is expected to rise to a crest
of 35.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage early tomorrow afternoon.
- Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
35.2 feet on 05/25/1947.
