Description: 
At 624 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm continuing to produce heavy rain along the northern edge of the warning area. This storm will produce 1 to 2 inches of additional rainfall as it crosses the Sumner Lake area. Further south, a severe thunderstorm produced 1 to 2.5 inches of rain over west central and central De Baca County late this afternoon. Depending on where you are located, flash flooding is either ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Fort Sumner and Yeso. This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 296 and 331. This includes the following recreation areas... Fort Sumner State Monument.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
